Bhut Naga Preserve – Tomato Based
£1.50 – £5.00
This preserve uses the “Hottest Chilli” in the world. The “Bhut Naga” originating from Northern India brings the heat to this tomato based preserve with the addition of Indian Spices.
The bhut jolokia also known as the Ghost Pepper, Ghost Chilli Pepper and Red Naga Chilli hybrid chilli pepper cultivated in the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland and Manipur. It is an interspecies hybrid of C. Chinese and C. frutescens genes.
In 2007, Guinness World Records certified that the Ghost Pepper was the world’s hottest Chilli Pepper, 401.5 times hotter than Tabasco Sauce; the Ghost Chilli is rated at more than 1 million Scoville heat units (SHUs). Classic Tabasco sauce ranges from 2,500 to 5,000 SHUs. However, the Bhut Jolokia was shortly superseded by the Infinity Chilli in early 2011, followed by the Naga Viper, then later the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion in 2012, and finally the “Carolina Reaper” on August 7, 2013.
